Process

Interview Stages:

Initial Screening (HR Call)

A short 20-30 minute discussion with HR about my background, motivation for applying, and availability. Covered basic qualifications and expectations for the role.

Technical Interview (with Tech Lead)

A 60-minute deep dive into my AI and software development experience. I was asked about:

  • Past projects involving Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), LangChain, and vector databases (pgvector, Pinecone).
  • Performance optimization techniques for LLMs and managing context windows, fine-tuning, and cost efficiency.
  • Experience with Next.js, tRPC, and TailwindCSS in production-ready AI applications.
  • Ability to work independently and prevent blockers within a team.

System Design & Problem-Solving Round

Focused on designing a scalable AI system from scratch. They were particularly interested in how I would optimize cost, performance, and maintainability while implementing RAG architectures and agentic workflows using LangGraph.

Cultural & Leadership Interview (Final Round)

A discussion with the hiring manager about my leadership experience, ability to work autonomously, and past experience leading teams and collaborating across different time zones.
