Process

The recruiter reached out to me via email because of my GitHub account.

After the initial call and a good conversation, I decided to move forward with the interview process. I received a lot of information about what the interviews would be like, which was very helpful.

The first interview was a system design interview. It wasn't the typical drawing format, but rather a text-based discussion, as if I were talking with a colleague. The interviewer didn't expect me to know every technical detail but rather to discuss the various trade-offs and bottlenecks in the design.

I enjoyed the interview and felt respected, speaking on an equal footing. The interviewer also took some extra time after the interview to discuss technical topics and answer my questions.

However, after the system design interview, I had to abort the process due to private reasons. The recruiter respected my decision and followed up with a positive message, letting me know that the door is always open at MongoDB.

To me, it was a great interview experience, both with the recruiter and the interviewer.
