I applied on the company website. After the HR round, I had a phone interview, then started the on-site round.
The on-site included a coding interview. I proposed a solution and agreed with the interviewer on my approach, but I could not finish the implementation on time.
The second interview was a technical discussion with the engineering director, focusing on databases. This interview was interactive and ran 15 minutes longer than the scheduled one hour.
After finishing the on-site, the feedback was rejection. The reason given was that while I had a strong technical background, my answers were "more DevOps oriented." I am completely surprised. I believed a database professional with DevOps experience would be a positive asset, not a negative point.
I am disappointed by this feedback.
