Pros: MongoDB gives interns the opportunity to work on features that are not only interesting but also have an actual impact on the product. This made the work exciting and exposed me to a lot of challenging technical problems I don't think I would have encountered at most other companies. The people I met there were all very approachable, so whenever I was confused, they were willing to take time out of their day to help. The intern events were also amazing. We got to go on a pizza tour, take trapezing lessons, and go to a Broadway show, etc.

Cons: There's no training program specific to each team for interns, so all the interns get the same general training.

Pros: Had a great summer working on a really interesting project. The people here are very smart and helpful, and I definitely felt challenged. Hours were good (10-6), and the other intern events they had throughout the summer, including a speaker series about once a week with senior members of the company, were fun. I stayed in the provided NYU housing, which was just OK, but a bunch of the interns lived there, so it was pretty fun overall. Pay is very competitive, and they are open about the job offer process for rising seniors.

Cons: It seemed like the non-engineering interns didn't have as great of an experience. The company is growing quickly, and there was some reorganization and layoffs during the summer, which kind of gave the impression that the company is a little unstable.

Pros: You're a full member of your team and are given all the same responsibilities as full-time engineers. People are super smart and also willing to help and explain if you're confused on anything. Fun intern events and awesome fellow interns.

Cons: Nothing really, especially as an intern.
