Process
A really good and well-structured interview process. The recruiters replied within a day, if not sooner. The interviewers were all invested and did not come across as cocky. Other companies should really look at MongoDB's interview process to see what a good end-to-end process/pipeline looks like.
Process:
- 30-minute chat with a recruiter
- 1 technical phone screen over a code-sharing site like CoderPad.
Onsite:
- Lunch with the new grads
- 2 technical interviews (Algorithms/Data Structures + Problem Solving)
- 1 technical, non-coding interview (covering past problems, work experience, system design)

Pros: 10gen is not too big. As an intern, we had lunch and question sessions with the founders and CEO. They gave us choices for our project and hooked us up with mentors. All of the projects were real work that is important to the company. Everyone is friendly; you can just go up and talk to them. They had intern events like movies, laser tagging, etc., every week.
Cons: Doesn't have the crazy perks like a free cafeteria, haircuts, or buses, etc., that you get at big companies like Facebook or Google.

Pros: MongoDB has a lot of smart employees. They also treat their interns very well and have some fun events planned out for them throughout the summer.
The in-house speaker series is a great chance to meet some of their upper management who have lots of experience in industry. Even if you're not working directly on the database, they put you through a training course the first week to acquaint you with their software.
Cons: Not much to complain about. Sometimes the culture felt too east-coasty, but that's probably because I'm from back west. They are moving very fast, and it can be easy to get caught up in the craziness.

Pros: A fast-growing company, solving problems with great perks, generous work-life balance, and good compensation.
Cons: Unless you're a software engineer, nobody knows what we do for a living.
