I submitted my resume online and received a response within a few days, asking for an initial interview. I accepted, of course, and had a half-hour interview with a technical recruiter. She inquired about my resume and MongoDB, including my likes and dislikes, and my previous database experience.
There were no technical questions, per se; the interview focused on understanding my background.
I proceeded to the next interview, another phone call that lasted about an hour. This time, it was a technical interview. It was my first technical interview, so I stumbled through it and did not advance to the next round. I've had multiple interviews since and now realize that MongoDB actually asks some of the easier questions when compared to its peer companies. With that said, if you're excited about working here, as I once was, ensure it's not your first interview experience!
The technical question I received was:
Given two arrays, output an array containing the elements that are present in both (i.e., the set intersection).
