Pros: What a great place to work. For them to be able to keep such a high ratio of senior people that have seen it all, tells you a lot. Doing the occasional interview with other companies makes you realize that further.
You find yourself asking, "Why should I jump through hoops to get a new job that might pay slightly better but sucks on every other level?"
* Great culture that is truly applied in every aspect.
* Diversity.
* Innovation for promotion: Everyone is trying to build that next hot internal tool that will see wide adoption (like a mini market where startups compete).
* Benefits that really matter and you actually use.
* Managers are upheld to high standards and no one is promoted until they are proven.
* Managers are fair, flexible, understanding, and trustworthy.
* High standards for interpersonal interaction (respect and friendliness).
* Top-shelf training.
* The list just keeps going... too many to list.
Cons: Big company that is process-heavy. You have to pick your battles, but they are working to fix this and empower users.
Diversity can turn tribal, as you often see teams that are 90% composed of one national origin, speaking their own language at work. They work to fix it, but it's very hard when people's national origin is very hard to determine.
Innovation for promotion: Everyone is trying to build that next hot internal tool that will see wide adoption. They will not adopt a competing product or contribute to a competing product because they want their product to win. It is the price to pay to have a highly dynamic tech space.
