Process

I applied through a recruitment agency. The drive was conducted on a Saturday, and there were quite a number of people who came. They grouped us based on technology.

The first round was a written test, which consisted of a total of 14 questions: 10 multiple-choice questions, 2 programming questions, and 2 SQL query questions.

The multiple-choice questions were easy. The programming questions were difficult, and the SQL query questions were easy.

I cleared the written test, and then the second round began. I could not clear the second round. The questions were difficult, and you needed to write down code for everything that you said.

Questions

I have an array of a million integers. I want to sum it efficiently. How would you do it without using Java 8 parallel streams?

I have a collection of strings that is sorted and unique. You will receive an input string. Your job is to search that string in that group and return true or false based on its presence. How will you solve this?

I have an online radio player application. There are two types of subscriptions: free and paid. In free, there is a restriction that a user can only listen to up to 50 songs in 1 hour. How would you code this?

How does a HashMap work? What is the time complexity of the get method in a HashMap?
