The interview process involved a total of 6 rounds:
The technical, VP, and Director rounds were conducted on the same day and consumed 4-5 hours. Only the Hiring Manager round, conducted by an onsite interviewer, was scheduled for a later date (almost a week later) due to a common time slot for both individuals.
All sorts of technical questions were asked, and all rounds went smoothly. The feedback for all rounds was very positive, and HR was very affirmative.
Even the scheduled round with the Hiring Manager went well, and I successfully answered all questions.
HR did not communicate the feedback for this last telephonic round for a long time. Upon consistently inquiring about the feedback for the last round, I was informed that they had not yet shortlisted and that a decision would take more time.
Again, after contacting HR a few more days later, HR conveyed that I had not been selected. Upon further inquiry, I was told they wanted someone with 'Capital Markets' experience, which I did not possess.
The job description never included such a requirement when I applied for the position, nor did the staffing team or HR ever communicate it. The criteria for the job changed in the interim (after I had successfully cleared my 5 rounds: 3 technical, 1 VP, 1 Director). Now, they only wanted someone with Capital Markets experience. HR never informed me about this change and was attempting to communicate that I had not cleared my last round. Surprisingly, the Hiring Manager, who suddenly changed the requirement criterion at the end as per her wish, had not even asked me a single question on Capital Markets to check my basic understanding of the domain.
This came as a shock, as I was not expecting something like this after having cleared all technical rounds and waited patiently for the result. I invested a lot of time, effort, and energy in the entire process, only to be told later that the job criteria had changed. Highly unprofessional!
All sorts of technical, managerial, and experience-related aspects.
