Cons: 3 days in office as a company mandate.

Pros: The people in the Calgary office are great. The office is really nice and there is beer!

Cons: There is a lot of mixed messaging and uncertainty. Managers don’t seem to know what’s going on half the time. Constant change and you can lose your job at any moment.

Pros: Career growth that is defined, a friendly, inclusive environment, willingness to try new initiatives, and senior executives who take frequent feedback and listen to all employees.

Cons: I was working at Shareworks by Morgan Stanley while efforts to better integrate into the Morgan Stanley environment were taking place after the acquisition. A lot of changes and improvements occurred in that time, making it feel like a startup. Now, I suspect it is a more rigid big enterprise culture than before, with more checks and balances for additional changes. Tracking methods are in place to go along with that to measure performance. I heard the social environment is basically dead after layoffs too, where most workplace talk is just business. Another terrible aspect is no equity for the Shareworks workers, when their product they develop deals with equity management. It will take more effort to try to understand customer struggles with not being able to use the product yourself. The rest is team level, and hoping you are on a team that works with you.
