Cons: Often, teams have outdated tech because banks prioritize security over novelty. It's better to use tried and tested tech to keep things safe. You don't learn about cutting-edge tech, and that can be a challenge when looking for other jobs in the sector. A lot of hygiene tasks and maintenance rather than writing actual code. Most of the code was already written, with very limited creativity. Often, the devs don't get enough learning opportunities on financial knowledge; you have to learn in your own time.
