A recruiter found me online and contacted me, offering an opportunity for a phone interview.

The interview was scheduled for 30 minutes, but the interviewer was half an hour late and the conversation lasted for 45 minutes.

The recruiter had told me that the HR representative who would contact me later would provide information about the interview, such as the types of questions I could expect, to help me prepare. However, the HR representative gave me no information and ignored my questions. Consequently, I did not anticipate the interviewer asking many questions about low-level operating system concepts.

I suppose I did not answer well enough because I could not recall all the details from concepts I learned years ago and have not used since. The interviewer then began questioning my abilities.

During the 45-minute interview, he repeatedly asked, "You're in CS; how can you not know this? It's CS basics."

He even inquired about my GPA and whether I was the smartest student on my team at school. This was despite my having graduated from university several years prior and working as a software developer since then. He did not ask me anything about my current job.

I felt very offended and was glad I would not have to work with someone who does not know how to respect other people.
