Applied via a third-party recruiter.

The whole process occurred quickly and smoothly.

Received a request for a phone screen (30-45 minutes) within 3 days. This referral program required the recruiter to submit the application, and I then needed to complete it via Taleo.

The phone screen was conducted by the team lead (10+ years with MS).

1. Basic tech questions:

   • Java fundamentals
   • Spring
   • Spring MVC
   • RDBMS (Oracle/DB2/Sybase, anyone is fine)
   • Multi-threading. I mentioned I was not an expert on the front end, so all front-end questions were bypassed.

2. Describe the most challenging moment and how you dealt with it.

3. Approaches on tuning system performance.

Received a request for an onsite interview the same day, and it was pushed to meet in the same week.

The onsite was held in Midtown, NYC, with 4 rounds and 4 people from different teams.

For the first three rounds:

• 5-10 minutes of background discussion.
• 15 minutes of technical questions (Java/Spring/DB/SQL, depending on which team the interviewer was from).
• 15 minutes of coding challenges (1-2 questions, HackerRank/CareerCup easy-mid difficulty, done on paper/whiteboard. The language could be any preferred (Java/JS/Scala/Python, etc.). It was fine if the coding was not finished, but the logic needed to be explained).
• 5-10 minutes for questions about the role/MS.

An offer was given the following week.
