Software Engineer Interview Experience - New York, New York

Process

They give you less than a week's notice for the super day.

There are two parts: a panel and an interview.

The panel is really boring. Everyone acts interested while the engineers talk about MS.

The interview experience varied significantly depending on your interviewers, which is unfortunately very unfair.

Some candidates did not have to write code, while others did.

I think MS needs to do a better job of ensuring some uniformity among all interviews because it really isn't fair in its current state.

My interviewer insisted that my approach to a coding question was wrong, even though it was correct.

Questions

Basic resume questions, then more in-depth tech stuff and coding. Unorganized, to be honest.
