This was not a pleasant experience due to a lack of professionalism.
Overall, I had 8 rounds (including the HR round) before they decided not to move my application forward.
I had 3 technical rounds on the first day that overlapped with lunch hours, which they had not accounted for. The next day, I received feedback that they wanted someone more technical and thus would not proceed with my application. I was initially fine with this, but I received a call again within a week stating they were considering my profile for a techno-functional role. I clearly told them I was not looking for a technical architect-type role, and they assured me it was a techno-functional profile. In the subsequent 2 rounds, I was asked questions on Agile and people management.
On the third day, they scheduled 3 rounds: Round 1 with the Executive Director, Round 2 with the Managing Director, and Round 3 with HR. The interview with the ED was at 12:30 PM, followed by the MD interview at 1:30 PM, and the HR round at 2:00 PM. HR called me at 12:30 PM to inform me that the ED would be delayed and only available at 2:00 PM for the round. They had requested the MD to speak with me at 1:00 PM. I was waiting for the MD round, and when I did not receive the call, I contacted HR. I was then told that the MD was not available before 1:30 PM. At 1:30 PM, the MD called me and we chatted for 30 minutes, which went fairly well. The ED arrived at 2:00 PM and asked a few technical and Scrum/Agile implementation questions. I was able to answer most of them. I then had my HR round at 3:00 PM and finished by 3:30 PM, after which I had my lunch.
I did not hear from HR for a couple of days, and then I received an email stating they had decided not to move my application forward.
Regardless of the outcome, I would have appreciated the entire experience if:
Interview experience matters significantly, and I truly hope they address these issues.
I would not recommend anyone proceed beyond 3 rounds if they observe this pattern.
Design problem:
They focused on Java concepts, particularly Java 8.
