I had two telephonic discussions, both fully scenario-based in Core Java and lasting a full hour each.
Then, I was called for a face-to-face discussion at their Mumbai, Malad office, traveling from Pune. Four technical discussions followed on the same day, all involving whiteboard scenario-based questions.
By this time, the day was almost over. The HR asked me to skip my train as there would be an HR round and a managerial round. I had no option but to cancel my train booking.
The HR round focused on salary expectations. The HR seemed satisfied with my figures and insisted on what she could do to prevent me from looking for further opportunities elsewhere. I was quite happy at this point.
This was when the managerial round occurred. The manager conducted a full technical round. He then asked me about the salary numbers I had quoted earlier to the HR, which I reiterated. Without pausing, he stated, "It's not possible."
I was then asked to wait in the lobby. Subsequently, the HR called me, stating that I had made it and could leave for the day.
Back home, the next day, the HR called again. She mentioned that although I had made it, there would be two fitment rounds, described as "just for the sake of formality" with no doubts in my mind.
Two weeks later, the fitment rounds began. I was asked to attend them on weekdays after 9 PM.
After these two rounds, there was a complete pause from the HR. All my calls to her number went unanswered. I had to contact my consultancy through which this process was happening.
The consultancy took two days to revert, stating that my resume did not meet their criteria.
After almost nine technical discussions and the HR's assurance about making me stay, this outcome was very disappointing.
Furthermore, they did not reimburse my travel expenses from Pune to Mumbai, claiming they consider both cities the same.
Honestly, I have never encountered such a confused organization and can only pity the employees working there.
