Good company, with some good people, but just not as competent in tech and design
It's a name-brand company in finance. I met a lot of good people.
For tech, software dev, and product design, it's probably just in the middle in terms of comp, below average in terms of tech and design maturity. I met good people there, but it always felt like my efforts would move things 3 steps forward only to be bumped 5 steps back by the next re-org.
Case in point, the high-level managing director earning a million dollars a year (before bonus) who was in charge of digital marketing started raving about discovering animated GIFs about half a year ago and proceeded to have designers create some for the marketing site. You cannot make that up.
The culture also seemed cutthroat and can be toxic at times.
