Pros

Money. The fact that they pay above average makes them think they can humiliate people.

Cons
  • No work-life balance.

  • Frequent layoffs with zero days' notice if a contractor. A big bunch of us were laid off suddenly. I finished work at 5 pm and received an email at 7 pm the same day asking me not to come back and to send my badge. Yes, that rude! (I had an amazing performance evaluation a few weeks before, so it was not performance; it was their financial results, from what I heard).

  • Unpaid overtime almost every day in my group.

  • Materialistic Wall Street, where you feel everyone is pushing you and rushing you.

  • Too much politics. Everyone is gossiping and complaining.

  • Zero space for innovation; just do what they tell you like a robot, and it is too much.

  • Lack of documentation.

  • Too many meetings and bureaucracy.

Advice to Management

You may attract people with your dollars, but remember that there is something more meaningful in life. It is called ethics and manners.
