Pros

Top-notch technical talent.

Very fast-paced.

Lots of freedom in how you get your work done.

Work from home easily.

Reasonably good hardware/infrastructure.

Business has a general appreciation for IT.

Pay.

Cons

Some bureaucracy.

Hard to fit in if you don't have a real interest in finance.

You will spend a lot more time understanding business than technology at times.

Bias towards in-house libraries/frameworks, some good, some bad.

Volatile industry.

Advice to Management

Specifically for IT Management, you don't need to totally restructure the organization every year. It doesn't really affect day-to-day work, but it is annoying. Management should focus on efficiency across groups, not pushing particular ideas on groups.
