Pros

Open culture and easy access to all levels offer lots of opportunity to learn business for the technology workforce. Work on strategic projects with the business, solving actual business problems.

Cons

There's a lot of red tape and a roundabout way of approaching solutions, with too many levels in between the problem owner and problem solver.

Advice to Management

Technology and business in today’s age cannot exist independently. The current cost center model is ‘tech for business’; it should lean towards ‘tech and business’. Lots of time and energy is wasted in negotiations and setting priorities, resulting in too much activity and very little productivity.
