Smart Team, Politics Outpace Performance
Very smart people, who can learn from each other. A well-oiled machine with very mature processes and procedures. A culture of consensus, teamwork, and respect.
Parts of the firm are understaffed, leading to a stressful environment.
Career and pay are based more on politics and less on performance.
Out of touch with the external world, especially in the technology divisions.
The firm is terribly unprepared for millennials at the workplace. This applies to culture, managers, empathy, perks, empowerment, etc.
Middle and lower management are in the weeds, and management directives are either ignored or implemented half-heartedly.
It's time to take a breath and ponder.
