Applied once and got a rejection email. Applied again and reached out to the recruiter on LinkedIn. I got an email from her to schedule an interview.
(Job posters are listed on LinkedIn postings, not the Motorola Solutions site, though you'll still be directed there to apply.)
After the interview with her, I was supposed to interview with the hiring manager, who was a department lead. I got a call from someone else who works with him instead because something came up.
He asked a lot of questions about my knowledge of and experience with machine learning (e.g., what regressors/classifiers I'd used, whether I'd used gradient descent) and some basic OOP. I mentioned a past project I worked on, and he asked why I used ML for it.
He gave me a lot of positive feedback and apologized for focusing so much on ML because that's his specialty. I said I'd enjoyed discussing ML with him and that I'm really passionate about it too. He said the department lead would reach out to me the next day, basically implying that he'd give him positive feedback.
He never reached out. I sent the recruiter a thank you email and two follow-up emails a couple weeks and then about a month later. I then called her twice and left a message once, still no response. Literally ghosted me.
What regressors and classifiers have you used?
Have you used gradient descent?
Explain an OOP concept.
