Senior Software Engineer Interview Experience - Amsterdam, Netherlands

Process

The process was long, with 2-3 week gaps between interviews. It took about 8-9 weeks in total to go through three coding sessions.

Coding tasks were easy to light-medium (one case) LeetCode level.

The biggest challenge was that two out of three interviewers were not fully competent in the tech areas they were discussing. They would not accept any reasoning and acted in a "boss culture" mode, going as far as putting pure lies in their interview notes.

The default way of communication from HR was to just keep silent. After some extensive pushing, I received a GPT-generated response. After another round of pushing, I was able to get a short summary of interview notes.

The company is apparently aiming for FAANG-style tech interviews but fails miserably in implementation. Interviewers were going for "cargo cult ego boost sessions" with almost nothing in the process related to real technical expertise. The outcome of such a process is purely random.

Enormous waste of time.
