Pros

It's a friendly, open atmosphere. Decisions are explained and consensus is important. Humor is evident and encouraged.

Cons

Very shaky and yet somewhat arrogant IT.

Some insulated engineers who don't seem to understand industry best practices and think their ideas are revolutionary.

Advice to Management

Pay closer attention to the doers and less attention to the talkers. It's easy to assume that someone who talks a good game is knowledgeable if you don't do your homework.

Think about adding some technical content to the well-meaning but interminable all-hands meetings, where we hear about how all the salesmen did but never hear about engineering accomplishments.
