Overall, I had a negative view of the Netflix interview process, mainly because of one of the interviewers. He was very rude and asked bizarre questions that required detailed knowledge of random subjects, some of which were not even on my resume. It seemed to me he was playing a game of "stump the candidate," which was annoying. He had a smirk on his face every time he "caught" me answering something not quite right.
What is the "Second Normal Form" in a database? What was the point of that? I didn't list database skills on my resume, and it had nothing to do with the job. I actually knew the answer, much to his dismay.
The other interviewers were fine. They asked high-level questions, drilled down into details, and posed good questions, which is a much better approach.
The recruiters were pretty good and on the ball. They did more and knew quite a bit compared to recruiters at other companies.
