Process

There was an initial one-hour phone interview with the hiring manager regarding educational and professional background.

Then, the main onsite interview was scheduled for three hours with five different people interviewing me. There were:

Two Engineering Managers
One Senior Software Engineer
One Director of Product
One Recruiter

Questions

Design a movie recommendation algorithm based on a social graph.

Input is provided as:

A social graph.
Movies seen by different people.
Their ratings for each movie.
Overall ratings of each movie.

Questions include how weights will be selected among friends' movies.

Pros: You have a lot of autonomy in technical decisions. It's a very respectful place to work. Racism/sexism is not tolerated. Really no barriers to getting things done. If you have a great solution to a problem, you can roll with it.

Cons: That same autonomy can make getting consensus on technical choices more complicated.
