Software Engineer • Former Employee
Pros: Writing this after resigning Nike within 6 months
1. You get a pair of shoes when you join. Later you get some unsold goodies like T-shirts & bags on some occasions
2. Good learning through Vibe coding.
Cons: 1. Pathetic decision making by leadership.
2. Micromanagement is at its core from most senior leaders to engineering managers; everyone is a micromanager.
3. Feels like leadership doesn't know what exactly they want and they lack vision, resulting in a lot of reworks.
4. You are given $2k worth of Cursor tokens every month and you are expected to complete 4-5 days worth of tasks in a day, and you will be held accountable for any mess in that vibe code.
5. Everything is vibe code from creating Jira tickets to creating Confluence to PR reviews.
6. Engineering managers throw you under the bus in case of any escalations.
7. In 2025 Nike hired aggressively; in 2026 employees are leaving Nike aggressively. This resulted in continuous hiring.
8. TA team doesn't have any standard; they will always lowball you no matter the budget. One employee will be getting X salary, and you will be hired for the same role for a 50% to 60% lower salary.
9. In 2026 employees got a ~5% hike.
