Applied online through the school's co-op site and was asked for an interview about a week later. Was interviewed by a hiring manager and two members of the team that was hiring. They mostly asked me about my past experience, with no regular "why do you want to work here" questions. They asked me one technical question (What is a major difference between C++ and PHP?), but that was it.

Pros: In the business units I work in, I had the opportunity to work on a variety of different projects. Nice working environment and people.
Cons: So-called leadership types at the top at the time were not visionaries. Some, if not most, members of the exec team seemed content to collect a cheque, stock options, and bonuses, and not take any risks. The short-sightedness of the exec team cost the company dearly.

Pros: Great people,
great access to devices,
and incredible potential.
Great spirit may have incredible opportunities given the early 2011 re-focus.
Cons: Incredibly bureaucratic internal support groups and management.
Has lacked leadership (in terms of inspiring and motivating) for too long.
Poor internal communication tools, and a company that is in a large number of areas—both in terms of technology and geographies.
Currently in turmoil.

Pros: Great work-life balance. The hours are flexible, the pay is slightly above the industry norm here, and the benefits are good.
Cons: The site in Burnaby is closing down.
The smartphone business is extremely competitive, and it will be difficult for Nokia to dominate the business as it once did.
