You will work in an international company. You will meet lots of new people from different cultures and different areas. It is a great experience to work in such a company.
There is a high level of respect and a generally very warm attitude from people. The overall atmosphere of the company is "finished" – very calm, very slow, but still, everybody is in a positive spirit.
There are still really innovative areas to work if you are a technical person, but note: this company is ruled by managers and HR. It will never be Google/Facebook/Twitter type of innovations.
In some countries, pay is above average in the market, but it is almost impossible to get a raise in pay.
Good work-life balance. Results matter most – no any control freaks in management.
This company is ruled by HR and middle management. Top management cannot really push anything innovative if it doesn't please middle management. And forget about any promotion in global if you are not in Finland or Germany.
Right now, due to cost control obsessions in most countries, daily allowances are changed to meal reimbursement. So, when you eat, you have to keep the ticket, and there is a maximum amount allowed. Now hold on to your chair: the maximum daily for Prague is 21 EUR/day (!!), Munich 28 EUR/day, and Helsinki 45 EUR/day. It is so disrespectful and shameful to be an employee and preplan your meals per day, calculating in a restaurant. Now I just prefer not to travel to avoid unnecessary stress with all those tickets, reports, etc.
This company tries to be a services company, but it is still very far from it. Take a look at the customer portal; it is still using technologies from the 20th century (like iFrames).
Dear Top Managers,
How can we succeed in something when the head of GLOBAL care has never used the customer care portal? How can we succeed if people consider it normal working in the 2nd largest TELECOM company and NOT knowing even what the difference is between a base station and a base station controller? In 85% of meetings where I am sitting, 90% of people have no ANY technical idea about the solution THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE for.
We have so many people in the company JUST FOR THE SAKE of some process that now I am doing work for a whole department. I design a service, design the architecture of software platforms, investigate modern approaches in data presentation, design customer messages and presentation, and then do a presentation FOR the customers. If I can do it alone, then why do I need all the Service Product Mgrs, Business Mgrs, and Leadership teams for milestones approvals? I am really crazy about how much time I waste on this instead of doing my primary job.
Normal hiring process for Brazil. Three levels of interviews, including HR. Background tests and drug tests are performed if hired. Usually, Human Resources conducts a group activity to see how the candidates work in a team environment and who sho
Straightforward, technical, managerial, and HR. It was a very friendly one, over a cup of tea. It doesn't look like a formal interview. It was similar to knowledge sharing and discussing more on future projects, but the key is to identify your stren
The first interview was with the Line Manager, and the second was with Human Resources. The interview with the Human Resources agent was quite relaxed, honest, and objective. After the first interview, two weeks later I was contacted by Human Resour
