Software Engineer - Controls Interview Experience - United States

March 1, 2022
Negative ExperienceNo Offer

Process

15-minute recruiter call followed by a 1-hour tech screen.

I was asked an extremely vague coding question and offered little to no hint.

When they noticed I was stuck, they seemed to have lost all their interest in the interview at the 25-minute mark.

I was far from stellar in the interview, but if the interviewer presents a trick question which needs a very specific approach to solve and provides no clue/hint, what is the point of interviewing?

The other, more senior "observing" interviewer could not be bothered to answer basic questions like what the team does or what the current needs of the team are.

Questions

This question is extremely vague and null regarding position estimation.
