Initially contacted by a recruiter on a recommendation from a peer.
Had an initial phone screen with the recruiter to confirm basic skill sets and experience. Nothing unusual in the questioning.
Went for one day of interviews and met six people, including the hiring manager, the Director, and three engineers.
The engineers' questions tested knowledge of investigative skills, QA processes, and bug management.
The Director was concerned with how I would develop a much-needed program from scratch, including managing resources, a testing plan, and developing and training junior test engineers, some of whom were in India.
The hiring manager spent most of the time determining if I had the project management skills to develop the program they needed. He asked many project-related and communication-related questions. He was very thorough.
The final person was the recruiter, who went over benefits and the rest of the hiring process.
