Nvidia knows what its focus is. It only takes on business ventures in which it has a unique competitive advantage, and says no to other (potentially lucrative) ventures. It invests in far-horizon projects to create markets that didn't exist before (e.g., CUDA, Jetson robotics, etc.). As a result, it has a years-long lead on competitors, ensuring its future profitability. This is a company where you will hold onto your stock options till retirement.
One cool bonus of the intern program is that they let you participate in the employee stock purchase plan, buying stock at a 15% discount (if your end date lines up with the stock purchase date). Also, during my remote internship, they sent three different care packages.
Jensen cares hugely about the employees and their families, and it's his goal to make Nvidia the place that brilliant minds can come to do their life's work.
None that I can think of.
I got a phone interview for an ASIC design position. The questions asked were from my resume, pipelining concepts, CMOS, inverter sizing, digital logic, and timing violations (setup, hold). They tested the basics and gave me ample time to respond.
The interview process consisted of an initial phone screening, followed by a technical interview focused on HPC concepts, Linux administration, and performance optimization. The communication was clear, and the interviewers were professional througho
It was good. They asked some technical questions about C++ and low-level systems. Then we went over OOP (Object-Oriented Programming) concepts. He was genuinely nice and interested to hear about my experience.
