Quick chat with hiring manager and then a full day interview over Zoom. I had a great experience through the process until the last half of the all-day interview. Two things have turned me off from this company.
In my system design conversation, my interviewer had little production experience and had only been at the company for six months. I reduced the complexity of the presented problem with a specific algorithm. The interviewer claimed to know it but bogged the conversation down with odd questions. It wasn't until I had 20 minutes left that I understood he didn't know the algorithm. After explaining it, he led on that it was a good shot but, without time to re-explain things, the conversation would then be over. He spent the next 20 minutes mocking the previous developers of the company, how they were shortsighted and inconsiderate.
Another observation is that in my initial discussion with the recruiters, I had asked for an adjustment in the process. They agreed and said it wasn't a problem. That didn't happen and, when I followed up, they didn't bother responding. They do anything to get you into the interview. They have no commitment to the experience or respect for your time.
Can you code to solve a problem?
Can you code to organize domains?
