Process

I had 3 rounds of telephonic interviews. HR contacted me for the interview.

The first round was to solve some basic programming puzzles, with a few questions on Java and some queries to be written.

The second round covered servlets, JNDI, and other J2EE concepts, along with a query.

In the third round, they asked C++ questions and general optimization questions.

Questions

How will you handle errors for a project containing only JSP pages?

How will you improve the performance of a project containing many queries?

What is the usage of a pointer to a pointer?

Pros: Good learning opportunities in diverse fields, from architecture to servers, etc. Excellent work-life balance (but no one will prevent you if you want to work more :P).

Cons: Slow development process; it takes time to start using new technology. It's more like a government job, with no incentives even if you perform beyond what is expected. Also, fixed years to get a hike or promotion (not based on performance).

Pros: Good learning opportunities in diverse fields, from architecture to servers, etc. Excellent work-life balance (but no one will prevent you if you want to work more :P).
