I gave my resume to my friends who work for Oracle. After a while, I received a call from HR regarding the interview schedule.
The first round was a telephonic round. Two people were on the other end. It was decent and lasted for around one hour.
Then, the next round was scheduled at their office. It lasted for around two hours with two people. One person asked about my projects while another prepared the questions.
The next round was with the hiring manager. It was a discussion about the job profile and my previous projects.
Most questions were from Perl, Java, shell scripting, and web applications.
Examples:
What are the different types of patches (during a release)?
Write logic to compare two different folders (including subfolders and their files) on a Windows machine, with paths like c:\folder1 and c:\folder2.
You have a log file with around 30,000 lines. There is another file containing error patterns (like invalid_request, no_file, etc.). Now, write a program (in Perl/shell) that outputs the log and its previous/next 5 lines.
Example: If the pattern (like no_file) occurs at line 200, then lines from 195 to 205 (11 lines) should be added to the output file.
I said I know Windows, so they asked a question to map a network drive using the command prompt.
