Pros: Middle-of-the-road benefits; they seem not to fire incompetent employees.
Cons: No raises. Upper management likes to make changes in infrastructure regardless of technical difficulties. A push toward "dev ops" while developers have no authority over infrastructure, but are still responsible when things go wrong.

Pros: Potential to get familiar with many technologies in addition to the regular area of focus. Many opportunities to work on challenging and rewarding projects. Excellent work/life balance due to flexible time and location. There are a lot of internal resources for training and development.
Cons: Pronounced vertical organization may not offer optimal open communication from the bottom to the top. Social events are minimal and depend on the region or country.
