Coworkers from Sun Microsystems. They do hire great people and inherit ones from acquisitions. Benefits seem to be above average, but vacations are stingy. The new open vacation policy will probably make things worse.
Management's goals are to replace experienced (older) employees with new college graduates from overseas, who are cheaper. After the acquisition of Sun Microsystems, 90% of the engineers did not get annual raises. They only gave raises to the “top” 10% and when promoting new college graduates after one and two years.
You should have mandatory annual performance reviews and require input from the manager’s direct reports for their reviews.
