- When you enter the company, whether as a lateral or a fresher, ask for whatever your dream salary is. They may offer it, but there's less chance afterward. Good luck.

- Do salary correction for lateral hires (poor performers) to freshers (good performers) at least once every five years. (Action item for Safra Catz :-/ )
- After an acquisition, do not kill the product solely for the customer base.
