Pros

Pay is okay. Benefits are good.

Cons

Forced performance ratings.

Typically, it's been a 10/70/20 distribution, but this year a 20/70/10 distribution was enforced (underperforming/meets expectations/exceeds expectations).

Headcount reductions occur in parallel with aggressive hiring, specifically at the dev team level.

Constant thrashing on "top projects" or "P0" management tasks, which also compete with "all hands on deck" Zoom sessions to construct PPT slides for senior/exec VP level update meetings in a period of 30 minutes or less.

Advice to Management

Outcomes from the annual road-mapping are consistently mutated or junked within Q1 (sometimes even starting in Q4!). "Security First" is a t-shirt slogan everyone uses to slow down or detract from commitments. There are lots of processes to drive "security first," but no consistent gatekeeping for approvals. It's a total "mom said no, so go ask dad" situation.
