Pros

The flexibility of time. You can come and go as you please, just ensure that everyone sees you. There is work so you don't get bored.

Cons

You don't learn a single thing. Not a place for new joiners with no experience. Usage of proprietary language and tools does not enable you to get a job outside Cerner easily, as you will basically be starting from scratch. I've even seen multiple 5+ YOE people at Cerner (Senior Software Engineer) start over as Software Engineers in other organizations. A lot of childish politics happen within the team, across teams, and in different departments. There's a lack of responsibility wherein you'll notice a lot of teams just mentioning that they can't work on it, even if their team is the only one that works on an issue. There's no growth at all in some teams. Unless someone leaves, and then it's a rat race by multiple people in the team to get that position. If not, then you stay in the same role.
