Process

HR was quite terrible. A company should never have HR ask technical questions because they don't have a clue.

Here's a breakdown of the process:

  • HR sent a letter asking to schedule an interview. I replied, but didn't hear anything for about two weeks.
  • I wrote a follow-up letter to HR. HR responded and said it had been scheduled for a specific date and time, without asking for my availability.
  • A telephone interview was conducted.
  • Three days later, I received a "thanks but no thanks" message.

Interview Questions:

Basic behavioral questions included:

  • Playing a game of "too high" and "too low" to guess a number between 1 and 1000. What is the maximum time it takes to get a right answer?
  • How many bits does it take to store 100,000?
  • Describe the basic functions of a hashmap.

Questions

All pretty easy.
