Forward Deployed Engineering Interview Experience - Palo Alto, California

Process

The interview process began with a phone screen and approximately four Skype interviews that utilized a shared coding environment.

They were incredibly flexible! I initiated the interview process, accepted a position at another company, and then resumed exactly where I left off a year later. I was truly impressed by this.

All interviews were relatively standard programming interviews. They included an introduction, a question about my resume, a programming or system design question, and an opportunity for me to ask questions.

Questions

Questions were mostly very similar to those found in Cracking the Coding Interview.

If you haven't read this from end-to-end, stop reading these reviews and go through it. Right now. Really.

Some interviewers also tested my experience with Linux/sysadmin-like tasks.

There were also some system design questions, asking how I could iteratively create some dashboard, and what feedback I would want from the client on my initial design.
