Process

I went through Palantir's interview process twice, once for an internship and once for a full-time position. Both times it was a full-day process, and I was exhausted by the end.

For the internship, there were four or five interviews (and I had to talk to one of the founders, which I think might have been another interview?). Similarly, for the full-time position, there were several interviews (though I didn't talk to a founder this time).

Each interview typically consisted of about five minutes of small talk and background questions, followed by forty minutes of coding, product, or algorithm challenges. The questions weren't excessively difficult but were generally what one would expect to know for the role, perhaps slightly less challenging for the full-time interviews.

My interviewers were very pleasant. One even remembered some facts I shared during the interview a few days later. However, I could sense that they all had more pressing matters. There was a lot of rushing in and out, even with the recruiting coordinator. Throughout the day, I was hurried from building to building and to lunch. My overall impression was that everyone at Palantir is incredibly intense.

While I wasn't significantly affected by the atmosphere, I can see how a brilliant but nervous candidate might struggle during interviews due to the environment.

To future applicants: Expect a lot of rushing, so take deep breaths whenever you can. Palantir is a very startup-y startup, so brace yourself for the interview day and use it as an opportunity to see if it's a good fit for you.

Questions

Signed NDA (also don't remember the questions that well anymore.)

There were some Palantir-y algorithms questions, a coding challenge (which was not hard), and one product question. Think Google APM interview question, but more technical. This is probably only for forward-developed people.
