Software Development Engineer Interview Experience - Seattle, Washington

Process

I was contacted via LinkedIn and took a phone interview, which I passed. My on-site interview was a couple of weeks later.

I was interviewed by junior developers with 2-3 years of experience. They asked two very easy questions and then asked me to debug their code, which was not the type of code I was expecting from Palantir.

After three interviews, they had me sit through a one-hour demo presentation. This would be useful if it were followed by another interview on how to use or expand the product. Instead, it was followed by us being taken out, marking the end of the interview.

I would say that on-site, the recruiter was a bit unprofessional, and the interviewers were too young to be able to assess someone. At the same time, based on the interview questions, I would say the bar to enter the company is very low.

I was a bit disappointed to have failed the interview, but based on the experience, the people there are not as smart as they appear from the outside. Compared with Snap, Facebook, Google, Amazon, Uber, and other companies I've interviewed with, Palantir seems to be in a lower league.

I would recommend this company for people with not that much preparation and a lower bar.

I would advise against it for people who view it as a top-tier company.
