My phone interview was set up as soon as I sent them my CV. It was very professional.
There were some string-based questions (I can't reveal them due to a disclosure agreement), but if you have basic tech skills mastered, they shouldn't be a problem. Practice your bash and regular expressions as well.
The negative experience with the interview started and ended with the HR process. They took nearly a month to get back to me, and despite sending multiple emails to HR, there was no response.
They then called me in for an onsite interview, and it was a wonderful experience. They put you up in a really cool place where you can walk to their offices.
I met with some of their employees – really nice and smart folks. They asked some basic questions and it felt like they were looking for a cultural fit rather than a technical fit (the phone interview likely served to check for technical fit).
The onsite interview concluded with a demo where they showed all the interviewees of the day their main products. It was fun stuff.
They sent me their final decision a couple of days later.
What was the most fun thing you did recently?
