Process
Technical interview via Karat, lasting 1 hour.
The interviewer briefly introduced himself and explained the process.
I had 60 seconds to tell about my background.
Then we had:
- 10 minutes for the first part (3 questions about time complexity)
- 40 minutes for the second part (2 coding questions; I didn't have time for the third one, though I gave some thoughts). These questions were all pretty similar.
In the second part, I was also asked about time and space complexities. The questions were really easy.
Questions
1-3: Analyze the provided code and determine its time complexity, or compare the time complexities of the two given functions.
4-5: Describe the implementation of a 2D game board.

Pros: In my experience, Palantir is perennially faced with more business than it has resources to staff, with the following results:
* The customers I've worked with and problems where I've engaged have been both challenging and meaningful.
* There is always a need for team members to step up and take ownership. No matter how new the employee, if you prove willing and capable, then you'll be given responsibility.
Cons: Hard, meaningful problems have real deadlines. Sometimes this means late nights.
In a lot of ways, growth at Palantir is empirical. As you prove capability, you will be given more accountability and ownership. There is no concrete promotion checklist, and your title won't have an increasing number next to it. This may make Palantir a poor fit for those who prefer that kind of structure.
