PayPal Work Experiences
- 3.0You are worthlessSenior Java Developer • Current EmployeeFebruary 23, 2024Pros: The framework is very mature, so it is very handy to work on development tasks.Cons: They blame on you when it's not your fault. So you need to push other team members or people that are not part of the team to complete their work, which is nasty. They don't do Agile. There are no project managers. People are working on the same tasks; it's a mess. Tasks have no description, scope, or acceptance criteria. So what they do is open lots of Slack threads with huge and endless discussions, and they blame on you if you cannot complete the work. But in the meantime, those discussions lead you to have to change the code many times.
- 5.0Really good company. I hope one day I can be full-timeSenior Java Developer • Former EmployeeJersey City, New Jersey, United StatesJanuary 14, 2021Pros: Helpful teammates and managers. Various support channels. Fast onboarding.Cons: Lack of detailed documentation. Sometimes, communication between teams is slow.
- 5.0PayPal provides a better work cultureSenior Java Developer • Former EmployeeSan Jose, California, United StatesMay 21, 2016Pros: Good work-life balance. During the flood time in Chennai, the company helped employees a lot. There is a play area for employees. Good food facilities. Better benefits.Cons: Too much process. Pushing code into production is very difficult.
