The PayPal 2017 Placement Drive was held using the guvi.in website.
The first round consisted of 30 MCQs covering sections like Aptitude (Logical and Quants) and Programming basics (find errors, give output, theoretical concepts, etc.). All 30 questions were quite easy if you have basic knowledge.
Second Round (Online Coding Round): If you cleared Round 1, you would be automatically directed to Round 2.
In this round, there were three categories of coding questions: Easy, Medium, and Hard. The best part was that the 'easy' questions were of difficult type, 'medium' were of easy type, and 'hard' were of very difficult type!
You were allowed a limited number of compilations for each question. You had to provide input and output to check if your code executed successfully, as the compiler would only indicate "Success or Fail" without showing specific errors.
You wouldn't have much time to read and code all three questions, so you had to work fast to complete them within the stipulated time. (Hint: Use Python for faster completion and to save time).
If you obtained output for all three questions, you would be eligible for the later stages of the placement drive. I didn't get through, so I don't have much idea about the later rounds :(
Hope this helps you all get an overall idea. All the best!
The difficult category question was related to a dictionary problem concept. The medium category was related to counting the number of 2s in a given range of numbers, from a lower to an upper limit. The easy category was related to a mirrored palindrome question.
