The development environment is unbelievably complex, with terrible documentation. To figure out how anything works requires a research project in itself. Everything is tribal knowledge.
Don't let your employees work for 24-hour stretches without sleep, unless you want to burn them out quickly. Consuming alcohol in the office is unprofessional and insensitive to some.
