I applied online. The process took 4 weeks.
First it starts with a Tech Recruiter screening, followed by one technical interview with a pair of EMs/devs split in two (half hour to discuss in detail a technical challenge you faced, half hour to perform a refactoring).
Then there was a live coding session (1h30) where I was asked to code an app from scratch using whatever tech. Unfortunately the instructions were not clear: contrary to what was exposed in the prep email, it was expected to prioritize completing the happy path of the full feature set rather than focusing on delivering the first feature following idiomatic frontend dev guidelines (good components breakout, code structure, error handling, input validation, dealing with race conditions, complete form states...).
The fellas I met were all nice. It's just crazy how they think such interviews can assess good engineers' work (valuing speed over quality and method). Also, I would've gotten ghosted had I not re-reached out a few weeks later.
What's the most technically challenging project you led or worked on?
